Tonight’s topic is the Ryan Ferguson case. Ryan Ferguson, an innocent man, was wrongfully convicted in 2005 of the 2001 murder of Columbia Daily Tribune sports editor Kent Heitholt and is currently serving a 40-year sentence. Ferguson was falsely convicted solely on the testimony of two non-credible “witnesses” who have since recanted, leaving no forensic or testimonial evidence linking Ferguson to the crime.
