Eddie has found the original (i.e., First Congress, 1 Stat 23) legislation prescribing the federal oath of office to which all government employees must swear (or affirm) prior to holding office, pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 3 of the federal constitution: “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution”.
A caller relates [at 1h37m] his experience about having his traffic case dismissed from court by doing little more than demanding a jury trial and then showing up in court and demanding that the prosecutor present her case against him. She was not ready for trial. He saw a long line of people that day in the courtroom who were there merely to pay their tickets without a fight. He noted that he almost did the same, but then figured he would at least put up some defense. A lesson to us all: make ‘em work for to steal our money.
