In today’s show we cover the astonishing story of how 9 Queensland councils (with more considering) have rejected water fluoridation. This avalanche of dissent was triggered by a decision by the State Premier Campbell Newman in 2012 to allow councils to decide individually whether to fluoridate their water.

During the show we bring you an original interview with the web master of Fluoride Australia – a website dedicated to countering the government disinformation on flouride and promoting sound science.

In the 2nd hour of the show I bring you a startling interview with Luke McKee, a man who claims, among other things, that Australian law discriminates against heterosexuality. Luke brings us a story of persecution by the NSW police and unjust laws that can be used to unreasonably detain and intimidate people.

Forgotten Australians National Day of Action – 6 Feb 2013

With all the news we have heard over the years about the abuse of children in various Church organisations you may have drawn the conclusion that everything is now out in the open and, the worst is behind us and the wheels of justice are now inexorably turning.

Think again!

The reality is that most of the abuse of children in orphanages and foster care which took place over the past few generations has gone unnoticed by the maninstream media and the courts, and the worst perpetrators have largely escaped punishment.

My guest today in the 2nd hour is Gabrielle Phillips Short, herself a survivor of 17 years of abuse in both orphanages and foster care.  Her story is a harrowing one, which she shares with us during the show.

More importantly however, Gabrielle is a courageous campaigner for truth, jutice and reconciliation for all the victims of this kind of abuse. Recently she staged a nation-wide rally, “Forgotten Australians National Day of Action“.

It was a great honour having Gabrielle on the show and I am sure you will find her story rivetting.

Explaining coal seam gas and its extraction (Source)

Today’s show reveals the shocking truth about the toxic, and one might say, genocidal effects of Coal Seam Gas, which is now spreading like a cancer throughout the country in both rural and urban environments.

My guest in the second hour is Wanda from northern New South Wales, who has been fighting on the frontline of this war against humanity. Recently she chained herself to a drilling rig as part of a protest against gas drilling in her region.

As we noted in a previous show, Coal Seam Gas drilling is coming to Sydney soon, and those who think that this is just a problem for a few unlucky rural folk have a rude shock coming.

During our interview we present a range of information about the destructive effects of this technology on both the environment and human health.

President Obama’s attempt to “get tough” on gun control has provoked a massive backlash from the patriot community in the US who are sworn to uphold the 2nd amendment at all costs, even if that means civil war.

On today’s show we take a long hard look at some of the key questions in the debate over gun ownership and what the implications are for the stability of the United States and the world.

Today, in the second hour, we welcome journalist Chris Graham to the show. Chris is the founding editor of the National Indigenous Times and the recipient of the prestigious Walkley Award for Excellence in Indigenous Affairs reporting.

In the course of our interview Chris documents a range of unethical and downright deceitful practices engaged by ABC Lateline in their coverage of a scandal which indirectly led to the highy controversial and despised NT Intervention.

The “intervention” as it’s now simply called, was a combination of draconian changes to the law and unprecendented law enforcement measures enacted in 2007, including roll back of the Native Title Act, quarantining of welfare benefits and deployment of 600 soldiers from the Australian Defence Forces in remote communites in the Northern Territories. The measures were spurred by claims of rampant sexual abuse in remote Aboriginal communities which had first appeared on ABC television’s Lateline program in 2006.

During tonight’s interview Chris steps us through his research which shows conclusively that senior ABC producers engaged in distortion of facts, wanton fabrication of evidence, and used testimony of informants who were clearly lying.

Such practices are of course all too common at the ABC, as regular listeners to this show will know. As with the biased reporting and cheap attacks on the character of Schapelle Corby’s family, the one-sided coverage of the Syrian conflict or the suppression of critical evidence concerning the 9/11 terrorist attacks,  this shocking story adds weight to the case for radically overhauling or even dismantling the ABC which has flagrantly breached its charter so many times.

In the first hour of today’s show we give you a different perspective on the question of accesibility of assault weapons in the US in the wake of Alex Jones’ highly controversial appearance on CNN with Piers Morgan.

In the second hour of today’s show we bring you some audio clips from the late Dr. Thomas Szasz, psychiatrist, philosopher and intellectual giant of the modern era.

Szasz was well known for his critique of biochemical reductionism in psychiatry, but it is interesting to note that he was also a libertarian who passionately believed in the concept of self-ownership and the rights of the individual. Szasz did not see any legitimacy in the the way the State regulates our access to drugs, and the lectures we bring you today highlight some of his ideas in this area.

Inasmuch as we have words to describe medicine as a healing art,
but have none to describe it as a method of social control or political rule,
we must first give it a name. I propose that we call it pharmacracy, from the
Greek roots pharmakon, for ‘medicine’ or ‘drug,’ and kratein, for ‘to rule’ or
‘to control.’ … As theocracy is rule by God or priests, and democracy is rule
by the people or the majority, so pharmacracy is rule by medicine or physicians.

In the first hour of the show we review some of the key themes which preoccupy TNRA, and take a close look at draconian changes to the family benefit which will save the government vast amounts of money.  We propose that these changes were needed in order to fund the celebrated carbon tax compensations doled out to low income Australians last year.

Well, the money had to come from somewhere!
