Replay of 09-01-15.
For many of us following the trail of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev the younger of the two Tsarnaev brothers accused of the Boston Marathon Bombing, the results of that trial had all the appearances of a fix. To begin with, it did not seem that young Dzhokhar, like his older brother, was even supposed to survive capture, something which would have obviated the need for an embarrassingly flimsy trial. However his trial had to go forward and many of us looked to see how all the contradictions in his case would work out. Well we didn’t get that chance because at the very outset of his trial his court appointed lawyer announced that he was guilty. Now that this is behind us, Dzhokhar’s aunt, Maret Tsanaeva who is a lawyer in her home country of the Kyrgyz Republic, has filed an argument of amicus curiae introducing FBI evidence that was ignored at the Dzhokahar’s trial, such as the fact that the FBI claims that the backpacks used by the bombers were black and its own video evidence show young Dzhokhar at the scene with a white backpack. A pack that was not heavy and bulging as the FBI claims but rather thin and light weight slung casually over only one of Dzhokar’s shoulders.
Helping Dzhokahar’s aunt Maret in this effort is US based attorney Jack Graham. Jack will be my guest tonight on INN World Report Radio where he will discuss this and other inconsistencies in the case of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Mr. Graham will join me at 7:30 EST this evening. I hope you can tune in and hear what the courageous attorney has to say about this case.

Tonight’s guests on INN World Report Radio were Joe Calhoon, The Logos Radio Network’s correspondent in New York for next week’s UN General Assembly meeting which will feature speeches by Pope Francis and Vladimir Putin.
Then Tom spoke with Geoff Gilson who was a young lawyer and member of the Tory party with aspirations of becoming a member of the British Parliament in the 1980’s. Geoff’s friend and fellow attorney Hugh John Simmonds CBE, Margaret Thatcher’s favorite speechwriter, gave young Geoff a job in his law firm. Gilson’s mentor and boss Simmonds later turned up dead in his car in a field after having been suicided. Geoff started looking into it and found a story that was part of the dark underworld of illegal arms trafficking that was going on during the Iraq/Iran war and into Iran Contra. It looks like Maggie Thatcher was getting a cut of the profits too and at a certain point Simmonds became a liability who had to be disposed of. Geoff has documented the results of his invistigation into this matter thus far in his new book Maggie’s Hammer.

Tonight’s guest was Professor Lance deHaven-Smith who teaches Public Administration and Policy at the University of Florida, Tallahassee. Professor de-Haven-Smith is famous for having started the academic line of inquiry that he calls State Crimes Against Democracy or SCADs for short. It has been some time since Tom has had Lance on the program and they caught up on a lot of the things that had transpired in the interim such as his important book Conspiracy Theory in America published by the University of Texas Press as part of their Discovering America series.
Together Professor deHaven-Smith and Tom discuss such important topics as the CIA’s creation of the pejorative “Conspiracy Theory” in their 1967 memo to members of the press on how to deal with critics of the Warren Commission Report and other topics. Professor deHaven-Smith’s website is: http://dehaven-smith.com/
