Tonight Tom’s guest is investigative journalist and author Hank Albarelli Jr. Hanks definitive book on the 1953 New York City murder of CIA scientist Frank Olson, puts him in an excellent position to comment on the new law suit that Olson’s two sons are now bringing against the CIA for the death of their father. In addition to discussing this issue we also talked many of the techniques developed by the CIA to silence those that they consider to be a threat. Finally we discuss Hank’s forthcoming book in the JFK assassination A Secret Order. Hanks website is http://hpalbarelli.com

Tonight Tom’s first guest tonight was Alex Jones, the world famous broadcaster who listens to Tom’s program live on the air in Austin Texas. Alex called in to discuss the Federal Reserve and how it is coming up for review on its 100th anniversary in 2013. Alex said the he agrees with frequent guest Webster Tarpley in that the Federal Reserve should be nationalized. Tom pointed out to Alex that in fact the function of the Federal Reserve has always been a national one which was stealthily privatized 99 years ago. Therefore a much more accurate and politically acceptable term would be to de-privatize the Federal Reserve. To this Alex agreed and we hope that in his broadcasting he continues to frame the issue just that way.
Tom’s second guest was first time INN World Report Radio guest Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya who is a sociologist, award-winning author, and well-known geopolitical analyst. His articles on topics such as international relations have been translated into more than twenty-five languages around the world. The book The Globalization of NATO (Clarity Press) is one of his latest published works. In 2011, he was a correspondent for the investigative news program Flashpoints, which is broadcast by more than fifty stations in North America and produced from Berkley, California. In the same year he received special mention from the Latin American Federation of Journalists (FELAP) as a correspondent in North Africa and was also awarded the prestigious First National Prize of the Mexican Press Club for his work. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of Geopolitica, a peer-reviewed journal of geopolitics in Italy, and a research associate at the Centre for Research on Globalization, which is located in Montreal. He currently works at Carleton University, where his teaching duties have included Latin American studies, African history, and introductory sociology.

Tom’s second guest is Bill Crane. Bill Crane is coming on the show tonight for the first time. He has recently written a piece about the ShowTime progam “Homeland” which pushes the theme that Middle Eastern terrorists are able to penetrate the highest levels of our government. The unstated message is the same old one: “Be afraid, be very afraid” but he asks how accurate is this kind of programming?

For the first time on the program I will talk with author and a co-founder of Mother Jones, Adam Hochschild. Adam will be on the the program to mark the 94th anniversary of the end of WWI (last Sunday) with a discussion of his book on the war: To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion, 1914-1918. In particular I will discuss the great lengths and casualties the elites on both sides of that war were willing to sustain to maintain their primacy and what we may learn from this as our elites face a rising challenge from China.
My second guest will be one of my favorite people on economic issues, Dr. Sylvia Allegretto who is currently an economist at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment at the University of California, Berkeley. She co-authored two editions of The State of Working America while working as an economist at the Economic Policy Institute. She joined EPI in 2003 after receiving her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is also co-author of two EPI studies, How does teacher pay compare? And The Teaching Penalty: Teacher Pay Losing Ground. Dr. Allegretto’s research interests include economic inequality, unemployment duration, family budgets, low-wage labor markets, the minimum wage, and the sub-minimum wage received by tipped workers.
